Purple eShakti Wrap Dress

Hey, look, I'm posting an actual outfit post! It's been awhile... But I wanted to share this beautiful dress I recently got from eShakti! I did a collaboration with them a few years back and I was excited to do one again, especially since my body is much different now, post-baby. (Can I still claim that 15 months later??)

eShakti is an online company specializing in women's fashion clothing. Their sizes range from 0-36W as well as doing custom pieces made to your measurements. You are also able to customize your item to your specifications: you can change the neckline, sleeve length, overall length of the dress, and remove pockets and other embellishments

The last time I ordered a dress from them, I ordered a custom size, but this time I just went with a straight size. Being that this is a wrap dress, it should hopefully still fit once I finally lose the rest of the baby weight, plus it is nursing-friendly, should the need arise while I'm wearing the dress (yes, I'm still nursing). The only change I made to the dress when ordering was to shorten the sleeve length from 3/4 to short-sleeves, that way I can get more wear out of it once the weather gets warmer.

For this particular instance, I wore it to a dinner at my husband's parents' church for married and engaged couples. I threw a cardigan on in case it got cool and kept it simple with flats and earrings.

Today I am also helping my dear blog friend, Ada, celebrate the one-year anniversary of her link-up, Thursday Moda! Ada and I have collaborated a couple times over the years (here and here) and I'm excited to be back to blogging so I can help her celebrate! So make sure you head over to her blog to leave a congratulatory note and link up an outfit of your own! (you can also link up at the bottom of this post too)

Currently~ February

Hello, again blog friends! Can you believe it's February already? Although, honestly, I can't believe it's 2017 already, haha :) I thought it would be fun to link up with Anne and share what's going on lately!

I'm so embarrassed, I made a list of all the shows I'm (or hubby and I are) watching or have started between Netflix and Amazon Prime and I came up with a list of 14 different shows!! Yikes... but I'm sure you understand different shows fit with different moods.

I have shows I can have on in the background and don't really have to pay my full attention to:

Haha don't laugh! I find his voice to be very relaxing- I put it on if I want to de-stress

I love watching cooking shows but I'm very sad of the lack of them on Netflix and Amazon!

Funny, half-hour comedies:

My hubby watched the whole series a few years ago and I finally got around to it too. I've binged most of it within the past few months and am on the final season. So funny!

Hubby and I always have a comedy series going. I've watched many episodes of Frasier at one point or another, but it's been fun watching it from the beginning!

To more 'serious' fair:

The Crown
I've been a little slow in watching this show, but it's so good!

Hubby and I love a good SiFi (that most, unfortunately, get cancelled after a season or two...) and this one has proven good so far!

Hubby and I also really like "Lord of the Rings" and this show has the same, mythical-like feel to it.

I used to read a ton, but lately I struggle to just get through a book! I don't know what it is! Although over the weekend during afternoon nap time, hubby and I both sat on the couch and read. It felt so good! Here are a few I've read lately/are reading now:

I, and I'm sure many of you out there too, are obsessed with all things Chip and Joanna Gaines! I was super excited to hear they had a book coming out (and may have pre-ordered it on Amazon MONTHS before it came out...). It did not disappoint! I loved reading about how they got to where they are today. Definitely a story that shows God's timing is always perfect!

If you love Gilmore Girls, you will love this book! Lauren Graham talks about her journey to break into acting and shares some fun, behind-the-scenes looks at her beloved show!

I just started this book over the weekend, but it's a very good read so far!

Monthly meal planning!

Hubby and I are really trying to crack down on our finances, particularly so we can pay off our car ASAP! One way we are cutting back on spending is to re-evaluate our food budget and try to get better at how much we spend at the grocery store each month. I've tried monthly meal planning a couple times before, and wasn't extremely successful in the past, but I'm coming into February with renewed excitement and vigor to make it work! I might do a separate post on this, but basically I first made a list of food/meals we need to use in our pantry and freezer, made a list of other meals I wanted to make or things that were on sale in the weekly ads, and filled in the month based on our schedule. I'm planning on doing the bulk of our shopping this weekend at 4 different stores, plus doing smaller trips each week for things like fresh produce, bread, milk, etc. I will update you later this month on whether or not this was a successful venture! Also, let me know if a post on monthly meal planning is something you'd be interested in reading. I know for me, those are some of my favorite videos to watch on YouTube ;)

Hubby and I are celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary this spring (!!!!!) and right around that time, Wicked is coming to the Twin Cities for a 5-week run! I last saw the show probably 10-11 years ago (when I was mildly obsessed with listing to the soundtrack on repeat...), so I'm super excited to see it with hubby and see it with fresh [older...] eyes :)

I am also anticipating an almost week-long stay with friends in Door County over the 4th of July. It's definitely one of my favorite places in the midwest :)

How about you, bloggy friends, what are some of your currentlies for February?

Make sure you subscribe so you don't miss the next post! (I promise it won't be so long in between posts next time ;) )

Remember me? I used to blog here many moons ago... like a year and a half ago?? To be honest, I wasn't sure if I'd ever blog again, but lately I've been having a little nudge inside to jump back in. Certainly not every day (I can't believe I used to do that!), maybe not every week, but once in awhile. Life is certainly moving so fast- my little guy is almost 14 months old!! And I'd like a way to preserve those special memories of everyday life (and hopefully get me to take more pictures too). I may do outfit posts again, but I think mostly this will be more daily life snapshots. So until the next post, here are some snapshots of my life lately :)

Lots of selfies with my little dude :)

Getting all snugly after bath time :)

Some dates with hubby

Seeing "Fantastic Beasts"

Yummy sushi lunch!

At a baseball game this summer

The Lion King was amazing!!

Of course lots of family time :)

Well bloggy friends, I hope you have a wonderful end to your week! Until next time!

Simple Summer Outfit/Bloggers Who Inspire Me Linkup

First of all, I want to say thank you for all who left such sweet comments on my last post! The blogging community is such an amazing place :) I started by 14th week this past Thursday, and while I'm having more good days than bad, I am still having some sickness so hopefully it will pass soon (and hopefully I get my energy back too!)

Today I'm sharing with you all a simple, summer outfit. I took this back when I was 11 weeks (and could still fit into these shorts!) so you can't tell I have a bump yet :)

Shorts: Gap
Tank: Gap (old!)
Kimono: Target
Sandals: Target
Earrings: The Limited
Watch: Gift

I've been wanting a kimono for awhile now and was looking at Target about a month ago when I found this beauty (plus it had a Cartwheel deal!). Of course, my size was sold out and I had to size down, but luckily kimonos run loose anyway, so you can't really even tell! It will be a perfect summer completer piece and obviously can grow with my expanding belly :)

Now onto the link up and this weeks featured five ladies: ***Note, while this link up has become quite the fashion link up, occassionally I like to feature posts outside of fashion and outfits. So while there were many fashion links I LOVED I also want to stay true to this link up and post other genres as well. You ALL inspire me though!

The Laundry Room Supermodel Tee The Laundry Room Supermodel Tee[/caption] Nikki linked up several lovely looks that it was hard to choose which one was my favorite as she has some lovely outfits almost always. I think what sold me on this look was her pointed striped flats (shoes I have had on my wishlist) and this tee (I LOVED these supermodels, especially Claudia because Claudia dated David Cooperfield the magician forever and as I child I loved both of them). I was inspired by Nikki's effortless yet casual chic look. Check out her post here.

Tiffany shows off a LBD with a BANG! I was inspired by the fact that while I don't think I have seen Tiffany style anything black I was impressed and thought she looked rather gorgeous. Tiffany normally styles bright colors, so her added neon pink clutch to stay true to her style was a cute addition. Check out her LBD look here.

learned-capsule-wardrobe.jpg   Sarah has been blogging about her month of picking only a limited number of clothes from her wardrobe and finding new ways to style them, a challenge she choose to do by a God given thought to see if she would come out being more thankful for the clothes she had and more. I was SO inspired by her results and the biblical principles she came to learn and realize through this challenge. I have seen God bless this young woman turned new blogging friend through this and I am so excited for her. You can view her challenge thoughts here.

Jennie redid a microwave cart and turned it into this lovely green coffee bar. Check out her process here. I was inspired to think outside the box of buying new furniture and instead how to re-purpose it or remodel it like she did here.
Whitney created a list that works well for her on staying motivated, whether with blogging, work and blogging life as well as in the area of growth in general. You can view her tips in depth here

Exciting news!

Yup, that picture is what you think it is! My hubby and I are expecting a baby and we are due the first week in December! We are super excited to be starting our little family and have an early Christmas present!

You may have noticed that things have been kind of sparse around here lately and you finally know the reason why :) I'm almost 13 weeks along, so I'm not really showing a lot yet (just looks like I ate a big lunch!) but I'm at that in-between state when my normal clothes are starting to get a bit too tight but maternity clothes are just too big yet. So lately I've been taking full advantage of maxi dresses and skirts! Kind of boring repeating things all the time (just wait until I'm 9 months and have 4 things in rotation haha) but it's just so much more comfortable to me than trying to fit into my pre-preggo pants with a belly band.

I've also been nauseous pretty much all day, everyday, for the past 2 months. Definitely not fun but hopefully that will end soon with the start of the second trimester! That and I hope I get my energy back too!

I'm not quite sure how much time I'll be committing to blogging for the near future (at least until I start feeling better!). But my hope is to do some pregnancy updates/maternity fashion/nursery decor? We shall see!

Budget Babes: Head-to-toe White/Link-up

Happy Friday everyone! I'm back with Ada and Rachel for our final installment of Budget Babes. This week we are dressed in head-to-toe white! I love how we all had the same idea of pretty, summery dresses (or in Ada's case, a top and skirt!) and played them up with white or neutral accessories. Make sure to check out their posts!

Dress (JC Penney): $35?
Sandals (Gordmans): $5?
Necklace (Forever 21): $10?
Earrings (Gift): Free

Total = $50

All of these items I'm wearing are actually a few years old or older, which I don't really remember how much I paid for them! The dress I got for my bachelorette party over 3 years ago (and definitely fit into it better back then...) and the sandals I got to wear at my wedding reception! A fun outfit tribute to my wedding :)

I hope you all have a great Memorial weekend (for us in the States)! I'm off for a fun bachelorette/wedding shower weekend with some college girlfriends!

Since it's the last installment of our Budget Babes series, we are making this one a link-up! Please share with us some of your favorite Spring looks you've recently worn!

Thanks for coming! We would love to see your spring themed looks! Please follow your hosts Ada (Bloglovin) Maria (Bloglovin) and Rachel (Bloglovin) and provide a back link of this post from one of our posts so that others can find us and to be nice. Please link up as many links with a spring theme and visit 2 or 3 other links. Thank you! We can't wait to see what you come up with.
