Simple Summer Outfit/Bloggers Who Inspire Me Linkup

First of all, I want to say thank you for all who left such sweet comments on my last post! The blogging community is such an amazing place :) I started by 14th week this past Thursday, and while I'm having more good days than bad, I am still having some sickness so hopefully it will pass soon (and hopefully I get my energy back too!)

Today I'm sharing with you all a simple, summer outfit. I took this back when I was 11 weeks (and could still fit into these shorts!) so you can't tell I have a bump yet :)

Shorts: Gap
Tank: Gap (old!)
Kimono: Target
Sandals: Target
Earrings: The Limited
Watch: Gift

I've been wanting a kimono for awhile now and was looking at Target about a month ago when I found this beauty (plus it had a Cartwheel deal!). Of course, my size was sold out and I had to size down, but luckily kimonos run loose anyway, so you can't really even tell! It will be a perfect summer completer piece and obviously can grow with my expanding belly :)

Now onto the link up and this weeks featured five ladies: ***Note, while this link up has become quite the fashion link up, occassionally I like to feature posts outside of fashion and outfits. So while there were many fashion links I LOVED I also want to stay true to this link up and post other genres as well. You ALL inspire me though!

The Laundry Room Supermodel Tee The Laundry Room Supermodel Tee[/caption] Nikki linked up several lovely looks that it was hard to choose which one was my favorite as she has some lovely outfits almost always. I think what sold me on this look was her pointed striped flats (shoes I have had on my wishlist) and this tee (I LOVED these supermodels, especially Claudia because Claudia dated David Cooperfield the magician forever and as I child I loved both of them). I was inspired by Nikki's effortless yet casual chic look. Check out her post here.

Tiffany shows off a LBD with a BANG! I was inspired by the fact that while I don't think I have seen Tiffany style anything black I was impressed and thought she looked rather gorgeous. Tiffany normally styles bright colors, so her added neon pink clutch to stay true to her style was a cute addition. Check out her LBD look here.

learned-capsule-wardrobe.jpg   Sarah has been blogging about her month of picking only a limited number of clothes from her wardrobe and finding new ways to style them, a challenge she choose to do by a God given thought to see if she would come out being more thankful for the clothes she had and more. I was SO inspired by her results and the biblical principles she came to learn and realize through this challenge. I have seen God bless this young woman turned new blogging friend through this and I am so excited for her. You can view her challenge thoughts here.

Jennie redid a microwave cart and turned it into this lovely green coffee bar. Check out her process here. I was inspired to think outside the box of buying new furniture and instead how to re-purpose it or remodel it like she did here.
Whitney created a list that works well for her on staying motivated, whether with blogging, work and blogging life as well as in the area of growth in general. You can view her tips in depth here

Now it is your turn, just follow the link up rules below: 1). Please link up recent posts and include the link up button or post this URL link back on your blog. Exciting news!

Yup, that picture is what you think it is! My hubby and I are expecting a baby and we are due the first week in December! We are super excited to be starting our little family and have an early Christmas present!

You may have noticed that things have been kind of sparse around here lately and you finally know the reason why :) I'm almost 13 weeks along, so I'm not really showing a lot yet (just looks like I ate a big lunch!) but I'm at that in-between state when my normal clothes are starting to get a bit too tight but maternity clothes are just too big yet. So lately I've been taking full advantage of maxi dresses and skirts! Kind of boring repeating things all the time (just wait until I'm 9 months and have 4 things in rotation haha) but it's just so much more comfortable to me than trying to fit into my pre-preggo pants with a belly band.

I've also been nauseous pretty much all day, everyday, for the past 2 months. Definitely not fun but hopefully that will end soon with the start of the second trimester! That and I hope I get my energy back too!

I'm not quite sure how much time I'll be committing to blogging for the near future (at least until I start feeling better!). But my hope is to do some pregnancy updates/maternity fashion/nursery decor? We shall see!

Budget Babes: Head-to-toe White/Link-up

Happy Friday everyone! I'm back with Ada and Rachel for our final installment of Budget Babes. This week we are dressed in head-to-toe white! I love how we all had the same idea of pretty, summery dresses (or in Ada's case, a top and skirt!) and played them up with white or neutral accessories. Make sure to check out their posts!

Dress (JC Penney): $35?
Sandals (Gordmans): $5?
Necklace (Forever 21): $10?
Earrings (Gift): Free

Total = $50

All of these items I'm wearing are actually a few years old or older, which I don't really remember how much I paid for them! The dress I got for my bachelorette party over 3 years ago (and definitely fit into it better back then...) and the sandals I got to wear at my wedding reception! A fun outfit tribute to my wedding :)

I hope you all have a great Memorial weekend (for us in the States)! I'm off for a fun bachelorette/wedding shower weekend with some college girlfriends!

Since it's the last installment of our Budget Babes series, we are making this one a link-up! Please share with us some of your favorite Spring looks you've recently worn!

Thanks for coming! We would love to see your spring themed looks! Please follow your hosts Ada (Bloglovin) Maria (Bloglovin) and Rachel (Bloglovin) and provide a back link of this post from one of our posts so that others can find us and to be nice. Please link up as many links with a spring theme and visit 2 or 3 other links. Thank you! We can't wait to see what you come up with.

 Top: Thrifted
Cardigan: Target
Jeans: Gap
Flats: Target
Earrings: Gordman's

We've been having such weird weather lately. It'll get nice and warm for a few days, then we'll have a week of cooler temperatures and rain, then it gets nice again for a few days. Probably because of that I've been feeling really blah in my fashion choices lately. (and partly why it's been a little quiet in this neck of the woods lately) My sister had her junior prom grand march last weekend so it was a good excuse to put a little bit of thought into my outfit :) Funny enough, this top was exactly the same color as her dress and it even had beading on the top like my top had! These flats I got from Target a couple months ago and they pretty much go with everything! They add a fun pop to a more simple outfit and they are still sold in stores! You should definitely check them out :)

Budget Babes: Floral Dresses

Happy Friday and welcome to the second to last edition of Spring Budget Babes with Ada and Rachel! Today's trend is all about floral dresses (but honestly, do these ever go out of style??) and the perfect way to end Ada's birthday week celebration on her blog! Don't these two ladies look lovely? Rachel and I had a similar idea of layering a piece over our dresses with some chunky necklaces for a fun pop. Ada let her floral dress be the star of the show and accompanied her dress, like I did, with a neutral peep toe. Make sure you stop by their blogs to check out their Spring looks!

Dress (Old Navy): $20?
Cardigan (Old Navy):$10?
Belt (Target): $10?
Heels (Payless): $5.05
Necklace (Edith Marie): $11.99
Watch (Gift): $0
Bracelet (Won from giveaway): $0
Earrings (Gift): $0

Total = $57.04

Extremely late in the game, but this is actually the outfit I wore on Easter Sunday over a month ago! Both the dress and cardigan came from my Old Navy working days, so they were both 25% off. I think that is the only thing I miss working there were the discounts! 25% off at Old Navy and 50% off at Gap and Banana Republic! So nice :) So needless to say, I've had both of these pieces for several years and have actually worn them together for another Easter past haha :) If something works, why fix it??

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! In between rain storms we are hoping to plant the veggies in our garden! We are trying straw bale gardening this year. Has anyone heard of it or done it? My mother-in-law has been doing it for a few years and loves it! I guess it is a much easier way to grow veggies/plants- you don't get weeds (yay!) and the bale acts like a greenhouse so the plants grow faster and the produce becomes mature much faster than planting it in the ground! Maybe I'll do a post about it once we get it off the ground :)

Budget Babes: Black and White

Happy Friday again! Once again I'm collaborating with Rachel and Ada for another week of Budget Babes. This week is all about black and white! I like this trend all year round but it seems so fresh in the spring, especially wearing white on the bottom. Rachel and I had the same idea in our outfits with white on bottom and black on the top while Ada mixed it up with a fun, white, windowpane top! Make sure you check these lovely ladies out!

 Top (Old Navy): $10?
Skirt (Gordmans): $15?
Shoes (Gap): $10?
Necklace (Thrifted): $2.38
Earrings (Edith Marie): $3
Watch (Gift): $0
Bracelets (Tiny Dazzles and Purple Peridot): $0 and $7

Total= $47.38

The reason why I have so many question marks next to many of my items is because they are relatively older pieces in my closet and most things I got pre-blog I have no idea how much I paid!

I guess I am a woman of few words this week. That's about all I have to say! Now go out and enjoy your Friday :) Join us next week when we style floral dresses on a budget!

Blogger Babes: Handbags/Giveaway

Happy Friday friends! Another Friday, another installment of Budget Babes with my blogging friends Ada and Rachel! Today's look is all about the Spring handbag. Not only are they functional (seriously us girls need our stuff at a moment's notice!) but they add a fun pop to any outfit! Make sure you swing by Ada and Rachel's blogs to see their cute Spring styles! Ada looks adorable with her floral dress with her clear/purple bag and Rachel's look is perfect for Spring and Summer and her cute handbag is great all year round!

Shirt (H&M): $9.99
Pants (? some online boutique): $18
Flats (Gap): $10?
Handbag (Gordmans): $15.99
Earrings (Gordmans):  $5.99

Total: $59.97

When I was thinking about this post I was thinking about all the handbags I own, and to be honest I haven't bought one for myself in years! My brother used to work at Coach, so most of my recent purses/handbags were Christmas gifts from him :) So I decided maybe it was time to treat myself to a cute Spring bag, but not wanting to break the bank, I decided to check Gordmans out. They carry so many cute things from clothing/accessories to home furnishings and you don't have to break the bank when shopping there! They definitely did not disappoint when it came to their handbag selection! They had an entire wall full of cute bags in cute, Spring colors. It definitely made for a hard decision! But I decided on this cute mint bag. There are tons of pockets and it is very sturdy and I'm sure it will be great for Spring and Summer alike. Plus, each time you shop there, you get a survey to fill out online for a 20% off coupon code. I had one from last time I was there, and that made this little bag more than affordable!

I also decided to get a cute pair of earrings to wear with my outfit too. I really love mint and coral together and for under $6, these earrings fit the bill! I know they will add a fun pop to my outfits this season.

If you'd like to find a cute handbag for yourself (or anything else your heart desires!) you can enter the giveaway below for a $25 gift card! The giveaway runs now until Friday, May 8th. Good luck! There is also a coupon for 20% off any item if you'd rather not wait to go shopping :)

Budget Babes: Loafers

Hello ladies! Happy Friday once again :) I'm again collaborating with Rachel and Ada for our weekly Budget Babes series~ this time it's all about the loafers! Mine is below and make sure you check out the other two lovely ladies' cute Spring styles!

Dress (Old Navy): $14?
Cardigan (Old Navy): $12.96
Shoes (Target): $24.99
Necklace (Purple Peridot): $16.98
Bracelet (Tiny Dazzles) $0 (free from a giveaway)
Earrings (Old Navy): $6.96

Total =  $75.89 (ahhh 89 cents over! Let's just round down ;) )

I got these loafers when Target had their buy one get one 50% off sale and they are amazingly comfy! They kind of make me look like I have cankles in this picture, but just look past that... I think loafers like these make the perfect spring shoe. By the time summer rolls around, my feet get so hot that all I'll wear are sandals, but during this in-between times they work really well. And based on all the ways we've styled them above, they go well with jeans, skirts, dresses, and just about anything!

Budget Babes: Pastels

Happy Friday friends! You may remember last summer I did a blog series with Ada of Elegance and Mommyhood called Budget Babes where we took different trends for summer and made them our own for a budget of $75 for our entire outfit. It was a lot of fun coming up with creative outfits! This time around we are joined by Rachel of Garay Treasures to bring you some thrifty spring looks! Today's look is all about pastels. Don't these two ladies have the cutest spring looks??

Tee (Old Navy): $6.88
Pants (Old Navy): $15
Chambray (Old Navy): $20? (this was before I kept track on spending)
Shoes (Toms): $0 (gift)
Watch (Amazon): $0 (gift)
Earrings (Target): $0 (gift)

Total = $ 41.88 (off to a great start!)

I don't own a lot of pastel clothing items. I honestly forgot I owned these pants until I was looking through my clothes to figure out what type of outfit to put together. The pants are actually another of those clothing items I'm really on the fence about. I think I've only worn them one time since I got them last May! I like how the whole outfit turned out from the pictures, but I think I'm more wary of wearing light colors on the bottom because I'm a pear shape and I'd rather draw the attention to my upper half. But if I can come up with more cute outfits like this, maybe they'll make the cut :)

Anyway, I like the dept the chambray gives the outfit. It breaks apart the overall pastel feeling so I don't look too much like an Easter egg :) It's the perfect outfit for a casual day of running errands or seeing Cinderella with your mom and sister (which is a great movie by the way!!) I'm also reusing this tee from last year's Budget Babe's graphic tee day.

Make sure you check out Ada and Rachel's blogs to see the lovely pastel combinations they came up with! And come back next Friday to see how we style loafers on a budget!

Trip to Disney and Universal

I've been a fan of Andrea's blog for awhile now and I was excited that today's Show and Tell Tuesday was all about favorite vacations! Hubby and I took a trip to Disney World and Universal Studios at the end of October as kind of a last big trip before kids and we had such a fun-filled week! We took almost 1500 pictures, so it was hard to narrow it down (but beware, this is a picture filled post!) but hopefully you enjoy this look back on a magical week!

Day One: Travel Day and Downtown Disney

We went back and forth deciding whether or not to fly or drive, but we ultimately decided to fly down there. Yes, it probably cost a bit more, but this way we had more time to enjoy down there. We also stayed at a Disney hotel, so we had free transportation to and from the airport!

We are all ready with our magic bands!

The Disney magic started right away with cartoons on the bus:

We finally arrived!

We stayed at the Pop Century resort, which is one of their value resorts. It's all decked out with memorabilia and decorations from the 50's to 90's. It was really cool!

I absolutely loved everything Mickey Mouse themed including the little shampoo bottles! So cute!

After checking into our hotel and getting some much needed food, we took a bus over to Downtown Disney and did a lot of walking around and shopping!

Day Two: Islands of Adventure

Our first full day of vacation we took a cab over to Universal Studios and went to the Islands of Adventure park. Before our trip we did a lot of research and decided to get The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, which has daily plans of all the Disney and Universal parks, what you should see in which order to avoid long wait times in line. It definitely worked! We got to all the parks at opening and basically had the parks to ourselves for the first couple hours! Definitely something I would recommend!

We thought this was a fitting sign to our first day of vacation:

Our first glimpse of Hogwarts!!

Our first day! Look how empty it is!

Hogsmede! I was seriously excited for this part of the park!

I just loved all the details they put into everything! I seriously felt like I was right in the middle of the movie!

Haha something you probably wouldn't see together- Harry Potter and Jurassic Park!

Our first butterbeer! This stuff was seriously good! It was basically a cream soda with a butterscotch whipped cream on top. So good!!

Day Two: Universal Studios

We took a cab over to Universal Studios again and went to the Universal Studios park.

Arrived right when the park opened again and it looks deserted!

Of course had to get a picture in front of the Back to the Future delorean!

Number 12 Grimmauld Place

Kreacher made an appearance once in awhile:

Entering Diagon Alley! They even had a sound of bricks moving at the entrance!

I think the longest we had to wait for any ride was 20-30 minutes. Most of the time we walked right on! It's crazy how empty the queues were.

Of course I had to stop by the Lucy tribute! They had some of her costumes and old scripts from the show!

Waiting in line for another Butterbeer :)

We went to an animal show which was pretty neat! They had trained pigs and cats and birds and all sorts of other animals! This was the pug from Men in Black 2!

Day Three: Epcot

Our day 3 was a little bit easier of a day. We split our time at Epcot into 2 days, so we spent the morning and part of the afternoon here then went back to the hotel for a nap :)

We were there for Epcot's Food and Wine festival which was pretty cool! Food and drinks from all over the world.

This was cool- we were at the aquarium during feeding time!

The way they fed the stingrays was really neat. The trainer would hold the food in her hand and they would swim over it and grab the food out of her hand. She can tell the difference between the 5 in the tank, so if one came around again for more food, she'd hold her hand out like this and it would swim away! Crazy!

Day Four: Magic Kingdom

We got there at opening again for the opening ceremony, then they led you behind a rope to the different areas of the park. I guess when the Anna and Elsa meet and greet started, people would literally run there and trample people to the ground! So now they do this to prevent people from hurrying to their first stops.

We went to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train first (which was at least a 75 minute wait the entire day we were there) and we basically walked right on!

We found a pretty good place to the right of the castle for the night show and Tinkerbell flew over us!

Day Five: Hollywood Studios

See, no lines!
The Star Tours ride was pretty cool! I think we went on it 3 times :)

Even though we were there the week of Halloween, Hollywood Studios was already decorating for Christmas!

We had lunch at Pizza Planet. The food wasn't the greatest, but the ambiance was cool! Since we were there for Halloween, we both got Mickey and Minnie ears :)

We had to see the Indiana Jones show!

And the stunt show was pretty cool too!

We went to the Frozen sing-along :)

And the Beauty and the Beast show!

Hollywood Studios night show was pretty cool! They sprayed water up and projected images on it!

Day Six: Epcot and Downtown Disney

We spent another morning at Epcot to see some of the attractions we missed the other day we were there.

This ride was pretty cool! A create-your-own roller coaster my hubby wants to get if we win the lottery :)

Tired after a full week of fun. Waiting for the bus back to our hotel.

We stopped for drinks and some silly pictures :)

Some of the yummy treats at Downtown Disney! We may or may not have split one of those caramel apples :)

We ended our trip back at Epcot for their night show and of course a Mickey pretzel!!

This was seriously such a fun trip! A ton of walking- we both wore our Fitbits and clocked about 10 miles a day! I'm already looking forward to being able to take our future kids back one day for more magical memories :) Now I'm definitely not a Disney expert by any means (I'd only been to Magic Kingdom once and my hubby was at Disney when he was a kid) but if you have any questions, feel free to let me know and I can try to answer them as best as I can!

I hope you all have a magical Tuesday :)
