Pinspiration for Summer

Happy Monday ladies! (at least we have a short week!) Today's outfit is based on a pin that I pinned a long time ago, but finally got around to recreating!

Shirt: Gap
Shorts: The Limited
Sandals: Target
Hat: Target
Necklace: Edith Marie

Not really much to say about it. Super comfortable, keeps the sun out of your eyes, pretty simple! Basically all I love for hot, summer days.

Here are some other ways I've worn this top:

June Spending

Hi ladies! Wow, can you already believe it's the end of June? And that I haven't blogged in 2 weeks...? I knew I wouldn't blog as much this summer, but wasn't really expecting to take a full two weeks off. But I've been busy living life and enjoying the outdoors!

Since it's the end of June, it's time to link up with Fran and the other budgeting bloggers to see just how much I spent on clothes this past month! After my closet inventory a few weeks ago, you'd think I'd focus more on getting bottoms/dresses to add to my closet, but no. I just love tops too much I guess :)

1. Loft blouse from Thred-up: $4.69
2. Apt. 9 blouse from Thred-up: $7.16
3. Current Affair blouse from Thred-up: $8.66
4. Striped tee from Old Navy: $4.12
5. Amour graphic tee from Old Navy: $6.88
6. Nude wedges from Payless: $5.05
7. Coral gladiator sandals from Payless: $14.55

Total = $51.11
(for seven pieces I think I did pretty good!)

There was a lot of good deals I found this month. I made my first purchase from Thred-up (an online consignment/thrift store). I had $10 off a purchase of $30 or more, so all of them came out to under $10 each! For these brands, that's pretty good!

Old Navy has a good sale going on now, plus I had some rewards to cash in. I wanted to find a top to wear on the 4th of July, and I think the red striped one will work well for that.

Payless has their BOGO sale going on right now, plus my store gave me an extra 20% off for signing up for their rewards program! How sweet is that! I'm still amazed the nude wedges were $5! We are going to an outdoor wedding tomorrow and I was looking for some nice, dressy wedges and I think these will work well, plus they will go with pretty much everything!

I hope you all have a great weekend and see you back next week!

Long forgotten skirt

I wore this outfit at some point last week. I haven't worn this skirt in years and wanted to pull it out again (it was a steal at under $5 from Loft!). Yup, not much else to say about this one!

Skirt: Loft
Shirt: Target
Shoes: Payless
Necklace, Earrings, Bracelets: Target

But for your entertainment, here are some outtakes:

"Babe, fix your skirt. It looks funny."

"Okay, stop taking pictures of nothing, you're wasting memory..."

Chevron and Teal

I wore this outfit over the weekend to church, then to grad parties minus the cardigan and necklace. This skirt is super comfortable! Pretty much like wearing pajamas, which is awesome :)

Skirt: JC Penney
Top: Target
Cardigan: Old Navy
Necklace: Forever 21
Sandals: Target

Also, I cannot get enough of these sandals! They are super comfortable! I'm thinking of seeing if Target has them in other colors, because I'm seriously wearing them every day!

Closet Inventory

I've been seeing a lot of bloggers do closet inventory posts lately, and I was curious as to what my closet is comprised of, so I did my own inventory over the weekend. This list doesn't include things such as workout wear, pj's, sweatshirts, those t-shirts you get from school, or flip flops. Here are my results:

Bottoms
    Dress-long: 7
    Dress-capri: 4
    Casual-capri: 4
    Jeans: 6
    Shorts: 5
    Maxi skirts: 5
    Shorter skirts: 8
    Total= 39

Dresses
    Maxi: 3
    Shorter: 17
    Total= 20

Tops
    'Nice' tanks: 7
    Basic tanks: 17
    Short-sleeve: 40
    3/4 or longsleeve: 27
    Sweaters: 10
    Cardigans: 21
    Jackets: 7
    Total= 129

Shoes
    Boots: 7
    Heels/wedges: 14
    Flats: 8
    Sandals: 9
    Total= 38

Total of all items= 226

I don't know what I was really expecting when I got all my numbers. I recently did a major closet clean-out, so I knew I didn't have a very high number. It is interesting to see it all on the page, though. 129 tops and only 39 bottoms? I think if anything, it helps me see where I should focus my buying on, if I decide to add pieces to my closet. I've never bought a ton of pants/shorts/capris/etc, mostly because I always had the most trouble finding pieces that fit well. I only got into wearing shorts in the last couple years! I also just made a purchase from thred-up, so a few more tops may be added to this collection...

Have you done a closet inventory before? Were you surprised by the results?

White, Pink, and Stripes All Over!

Well, not all over, but you get the gist :) Happy Monday! I hope you all had a good weekend! Ours was busy, but fun. Got some things for the house, got my oil changed, hung some curtains, went to a movie, and went to 3 grad parties. Busy busy!

Here is the outfit I wore on Friday. Pretty casual and comfortable. I think this is the first time this little cardigan is on my blog- it's pretty old from American Eagle. I had actually lost it for a few years in between moving to/from college and found it tucked away in one of my suitcases! I really like it, because it gives a little more depth to an outfit without adding a lot of weight or bulk.

Pants: Target
Shirt: Gap via Goodwill
Cardigan: American Eagle
Sandals: Target
Necklace: Edith Marie
Bracelet: Farmers' Market
Earrings: Target

Chevron Maxi

Here is another maxi I got last month from JC Penney! I actually went there to look for a different skirt, which I couldn't find, but ended up passing by the petite section and saw this one. I've never worn anything from the petite section, but decided to give it a try since it was so cute. I was surprised that it fits longer than some of my regular maxi's! It hits just above my foot, which I prefer than having them drag on the ground and get dirty or wet.

Skirt: JC Penney
Pink tank: Gap
Purple tank: Old Navy
Cardigan: Target
Sandals: Target
Necklace: Edith Marie

I wore it with the cardigan to church, then wore it with out for the rest of the day. I also wore my necklace backwards again :) I really like how the necklace ties in with the chevron pattern of the skirt!

And yup, I totally need to come up with better poses than just a hand on the hip :)

Casual Aztec Maxi

We had beautiful weather over the weekend, so I decided to pull out my aztec maxi again. This time I paired it with a pink top and I really like the way it turned out!

Skirt: Target
Tank: Old Navy
Shirt: Target
Necklace: Farmer's Market

I also just got an eye exam recently (for the first time in 3 years... whoops!) and just got my new glasses! I was kind of wary of the big-rims for a long time, but I really like how these ones look! And I can see clearly again, which is always a plus :)

And here is another way I've worn this skirt:
