You guys, I wish it were Spring or Summer because then I can start taking pics outside again! I'm not a fan of the quality of these indoor pictures... which could be the reason I liked this outfit so much better in person than looking at it now!
But anyway, this cardigan is something that has been neglected more often than not. Actually, I'm pretty sure the last time I wore this was in July when we went up to Canada for the weekend. I've really been trying lately (not always succeeding...) to wear pieces that I haven't worn in awhile, to see if it's something worth keeping or something I need to get rid of. I do love this cardigan and this is the only brown cardigan I have, but I just find it hard to style! A lot my dress pants are either black or gray, so I usually can't wear it with those for work, so I decided maroon (marsala?) would be a good choice :) The rest kind of came together on its own after that.
What do you think- how else should I (or do you) wear this brown cardigan?
I'm also passing on metallic flats for Blogging Besties!
Also, make sure you checkout yesterday's post and enter the giveaway for a $25 gift card to Gordmans!
I really like this outfit! The brown cardigan looks great with your maroon pants, and would probably work with any blue or navy pants you have too. And actually, I really like the look of grey, brown, and white together in a neutral look.

ReplyDeleteThanks Inge! I'll have to remember the grey, brown, and white combo and try it sometime!
DeleteOn the post today I am also wearing a neglected cardigan with some neglected dressy pants. I know what you mean about shopping your own closet. Just a couple of days ago I wore a light brown/taupe cardigan. I love it how you did it here with the burgundy pants and the chambray. I pinned this so I can re-create it too. =)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, Maria!
Thanks Ada! I can't wait to see your recreation of this outfit too!
DeleteI love this look! The marsala pants and chambray look great together! That necklace is so cute!

DeleteThis is a really cute combo! I'm ready for spring too. I'm sick of the cold.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny!
DeleteSuch a cute look! I am in love with those long pearl strands and the marsala dress pants!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carrie!
DeleteUgh, I just wrote a long comment and then it disappeared! Well, what did I even write? I think something about being tired of winter, and still trying to take outdoor photos even when it is freezing, but it's usually too dark, so I end up inside anyway. And that I like your cardigan, but it sounds like it just doesn't play nice with the rest of your closet? I've been finding that with several of my neglected items - they just aren't very remixable, so I don't wear them as often. Anyway, I think that was all I said. Oh, and I like your outfit!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, don't you hate when that happens? And it's always when you write really long comments too... That is a good way of thinking about it being remixable with the rest of my wardrobe. I'm really bad with that- I'll get something because its cute, but it doesn't work with anything else I have, so I wear it the one way all the time. I think I need to work on that :)
DeleteI'm totally with you. I love brown, but most of my work items are black or grey. I definitely think it would work with jeans, or maybe over a patterned dress? It really is a great piece!
ReplyDeleteI took your advice and today I'm trying it over a blue striped dress and I think it works really well! I think I just need to think outside the box a bit more with this one :)
DeleteI love that pearl necklace! And I agree with you on indoor photos. I just never like mine as well! Thanks for linking-up!
ReplyDeleteThanks Whitney! I get so many complements on this necklace and I think it was under $5!
