Favorite Fall Fashions

Fall is one of my favorite times of year (when I'm actually ready to let the summer weather go!). The cool weather is nice as well as everything that goes with it: pumpkin spice everything, warm drinks, layers, all the holidays, etc. Here are some of my favorite clothing items to wear for the cooler months ahead! I will share with you some cute styles available for purchase now, as well as ways I've styled them in the past year. I'll be honest, a lot of these looks are from winter instead of fall, but since I started my blog last October, I don't have many fall outfits to choose from.

1. Scarves

I think scarves are my favorite cold-weather accessory! Not only do they look stylish, but they keep you warm (which, let's face it, in MN we need all the help we can get!)

Boots come in so many varieties: riding, heel, wedge, booties, over the knee, the list goes on! I have a pair of brown and a pair of black riding boots and I wore them all fall and winter last year. As you can see in the pictures, I wore them a lot to work with skirts or dresses.

3. Sweaters

Sweaters are warm and cozy- 'nuf said :) Also, at Target this week, boyfriend cardigans are on sale for $15, PLUS if you use Cartwheel you get an extra 20% off! I went on Tuesday and they were already out of a lot of colors, but I got a cream colored one and a black one to replace an old black cardigan I have. Can't beat a cardigan for $12!

4. Plaid

I officially only own one plaid shirt, but I think plaid in general just screams fall, don't you think?

5. Dark Nail Polish

I don't have any pictures of me wearing dark nail polish, but I just love them when the weather starts getting cool! Navy, dark gray, maroon, all game in my book :)

  2. I do love plaid (I also only own one shirt)... It just seems cozy and reminds me of lumberjacks which makes me think of Fall.

And riding boots are the best. I need a new pair

  5. Um yes, all these fall items are fantastic!! I'm moving from SoCal to Denver in November so I'm excited I'll finally be able to wear fall clothes for more than just a few chilly days a year! I definitely crave darker polish during the colder months too, what's with that? Just love it. Oh and scarves, I own way too many scarves.

  6. I always do my toenails in darker colors in the cooler months, but since I am just starting to get into the swing of painting my fingernails and am not very good at it yet, I have been sticking to lighter colors (plus, the lighter colors don't stain my fingers when I try to take the polish off, haha!). In fact, I'm in between coats of polish right now...I'm painting my fingernails white right now, hahah!!

  7. Scarves, tall riding boots and plaid are definitely favorite Fall fashions for me. I would add my Denim Jacket and Denim Vest and my Utility Jacket to the favorites list. I do need an Utility Vest though. Great post. =)
