Home Organizing: Bedroom

2014 is going to be a year in which I tackle all the home organizing and projects I've sort of pushed to the back burner. I think I've decided I want to take on one room in the house per month. For January that will be our master bedroom. Here is a list of things I want to accomplish this month:

1. Purge through clothes and reorganize closet and drawers
2. Get new curtains for the room
3. Find a duvet cover for our comforter
4. Put a colorful sheet on the box spring so it doesn't look just like a box spring
5. Find a tall mirror for our wall (right now I'm using a cheap one from Wal Mart from college)
6. Find and hang small mirrors for either side of the bed
7. Hang more pictures/artwork on the walls
8. Clear out the clutter!!
9. Find a basket to put next to the bed for magazines
10. Reorganize nightstand

I did post these pictures before, but to refresh your memory, here is what the room looked like when we first bought the house:

As you can see, boring, white walls, blonde trim...

And here it is now:

We made a lot of updates! Painted the trim white, gray walls. Hubby's grandpa built us a new closet system, which you can't see from these pictures. We added the curtain instead of the closet doors for easier access to everything. Not sure what I was thinking for the green curtains; they match too much with the walls.

Next week I'll share some of the projects that I've been working on to spruce up this room!

Don't forget, if you like what you see, please follow me either with Bloglovin or Google plus!

  1. Oooh you have a pretty big list of things to accomplish! But you really have done so much already! I like those curtains you put on the closet. Here's to getting it all done in 2014!

    1. Haha, it is a big list, but I did some of those things back in December :) I'll just pretend it happened in January!
